Child Care

The birth of a child is a kind of a blessing when a new member is included in the family. Previously, there were grand parents and other elder members of the family taking care of the children but nowadays as the world progresses, parents prefer nuclear families. Most of the parents are seen as working and hence unable to take good care of their children. The end product is confusion. But keeping some handy tips can help you in providing best care to your child.Child BehaviorEvery kind of child exhibits a different behavior. It may be bad and at the same time good. Until it is good it is acceptable but if it is bad then it needs attention. Of course, the treatment should not be harsh. If you child is a trouble maker then genes may be a reason. But still it also requires the parents to check their behavior too. Hereditary influence is not the only the key factor which determines a child behavior, if the parents tend to quarrel and the upbringing pattern is also to blame. A child never knows what to do when he is frustrated, tired or curious. So he may act in an improper manner. Parents need to understand this. The parents should explain their kids for their wrong behavior and at the same time teach them good manners as well. Encourage your children to make friends.

Depression in Children

Most people think that depression is only for those who lose a loved one or for those who have a series of unfortunate events. For most cases, trauma is a reason why depression will affect a person. However, trauma affects those of all ages, including children. It should be no surprise that children suffer from depression also. The youngest case of depression ending with suicide is five years old. A five your old were that sad, could you imagine a depressed five years old?

Babies and Sleeping

Is it time yet? Yeah, you know what I am referring to. If you're expecting, you're probably all stoked about the new nursery, the tiny clothes, and the baby bath tub. These things are so much fun when you're expecting a little one. I honestly can't think of anything as great as having a new baby in the house. If you're having a bad day, no worries; there's always that little face to come home to. It can work miracles on any bad mood. Oh, but you don't want to forget about the strains of having a newborn either. Not that they're that bad or anything. The good certainly outweighs the bad. One of my personal hang-ups always concerned babies and sleeping. I had some difficult relaxing when our baby was in the crib at night. For some reason I was always so worried about her breathing and safety.

Exercise During Childhood

When the child has acquired sufficient strength to take active exercise, he can scarcely be too much in the open air; the more he is habituated to this, the more capable will he be of bearing the vicissitudes of the climate. Children, too, should always be allowed to amuse themselves at pleasure, for they will generally take that kind and degree of exercise which is best calculated to promote the growth and development of the body. In the unrestrained indulgence of their youthful sports, every muscle of the body comes in for its share of active exercise; and free growth, vigour, and health are the result.

Teaching A Child To Walk

Exercise is essentially important to the health of the infant. Its first exercise, of course, will be in the nurse's arms. After a month or two, when it begins to sleep less during the day, it will delight to roll and kick about on the sofa: it will thus use its limbs freely; and this, with carrying out into the open air, is all the exercise it requires at this period. By and by, however, the child will make its first attempts to walk. Now it is important that none of the many plans which have been devised to teach a child to walk, should be adopted the go-cart, leading-strings, etc.; their tendency is mischievous; and flatness of the chest, confined lungs, distorted spine, and deformed legs, are so many evils which often originate in such practices. This is explained by the fact of the bones in infancy being comparatively soft and pliable, and if prematurely subjected by these contrivances to carry the weight of the body, they yield just like an elastic stick bending under a weight, and as a natural consequence become curved and distorted.
