Most people think that depression is only for those who lose a loved one or for those who have a series of unfortunate events. For most cases, trauma is a reason why depression will affect a person. However, trauma affects those of all ages, including children. It should be no surprise that children suffer from depression also. The youngest case of depression ending with suicide is five years old. A five your old were that sad, could you imagine a depressed five years old? |

Is it time yet? Yeah, you know what I am referring to. If you're expecting, you're probably all stoked about the new nursery, the tiny clothes, and the baby bath tub. These things are so much fun when you're expecting a little one. I honestly can't think of anything as great as having a new baby in the house. If you're having a bad day, no worries; there's always that little face to come home to. It can work miracles on any bad mood. Oh, but you don't want to forget about the strains of having a newborn either. Not that they're that bad or anything. The good certainly outweighs the bad. One of my personal hang-ups always concerned babies and sleeping. I had some difficult relaxing when our baby was in the crib at night. When the child has acquired sufficient strength to take active exercise, he can scarcely be too much in the open air; the more he is habituated to this, the more capable will he be of bearing the vicissitudes of the climate. Children, too, should always be allowed to amuse themselves at pleasure, for they will generally take that kind and degree of exercise which is best calculated to promote the growth and development of the body. Exercise is essentially important to the health of the infant. Its first exercise, of course, will be in the nurse's arms. After a month or two, when it begins to sleep less during the day, it will delight to roll and kick about on the sofa: it will thus use its limbs freely; and this, with carrying out into the open air, is all the exercise it requires at this period. By and by, however, the child will make its first attempts to walk. Now it is important that none of the many plans which have been devised to teach a child to walk, should be adopted the go-cart, leading-strings, etc.; their tendency is mischievous; and flatness of the chest, confined lungs, distorted spine, and deformed legs, are so many evils which often originate in such practices. This is explained by the fact of the bones in infancy being comparatively soft and pliable, and if prematurely subjected by these contrivances to carry the weight of the body, they yield just like an elastic stick bending under a weight, and as a natural consequence become curved and distorted. |

The very words "Child Care" can create a wealth of emotion when the subject is raised. Caring for a child is one of the most important things which is very hard to do. Taking proper care of a child can mean the difference in development that you should start from early. You should not think that daycare is too long, if you will start from six months earlier. There are thousands upon thousands of words have been written on the subject of child care and today, in fact child care itself has grown into a huge industry. However there are many things that you need to think about first. Childcare should closer to home or work. There are also many child care centers that are most likely to be accredited. In fat these centers also have to meet state guidelines. But there are some home providers who are not always required to meet certain state guidelines to their children "at home". |
